I was quoted in another article on ebooks. This one had the headline that ebooks are throwing publishers for a loop. Apparently as a result of the ebook revolution some publishers (Canadian ones at least) are worried about falling revenues. I’m not, and to prove it I’m giving my thriller, Lethal Circuit, away FREE for the Memorial Day Weekend. It won’t be FREE all the time and if you want it, you’ll have to download it at Amazon now.
Publishers and a lot of writers hate to do this — give stuff away for free. They figure it devalues the book. I don’t think so though. I think it enhances the book. Promotions have always been part of retail. It’s about getting the word out. A few lucky customers who are in the right place at the right time get a give-away. No big deal. Plus, who doesn’t love free stuff?
OK. Maybe you don’t. Maybe you value what you pay for. Maybe you savor what costs you money and time to select and you will nurture that book and love and enjoy it forever. And that’s great. Really. Because I love you too – that’s why Lethal Circuit isn’t always free.
So the thing is – I’m an equal opportunity writer. Don’t want to take a chance, love a deal – pick up Lethal Circuit for nothing this weekend. Prefer to study your books before you buy? Read all the reviews? Make an informed choice? Savor the nuance? You can do that too – just wait a few days until after all the backyard barbecues and beer drinking are done. I’ll be here and so will Lethal Circuit.
Because it’s the same book – just two different customers, and I value you both. Download Lethal Circuit for FREE here now. Tick tock.
